National Day of Women in Mining 2022

Today we celebrate the National Day of Women in Mining 2022. We are committed to increasing the representation of women in the South African mining industry.

Minerals Council South Africa members are fully committed to increasing the representation of women in the South African mining industry, and to ensuring that the industry is a safe and attractive prospect for young women as they look to develop their careers.

We cannot afford to ignore the critical issues faced by South African women, which all of us must tackle head-on.

Paul Dunne, Deputy Chair of Women in Mining and Chief Executive of Northam, gives an update on the work done as part of Women in Mining initiatives over the last year.

The Minerals Council is at the forefront of raising awareness of women in mining, focusing on the wonderful achievements made to date, as well as identifying the areas of concern which we are resolute in resolving. The Minerals Council is #MakingMiningMatter.
