The Minerals Council South Africa and Harmony Gold, in partnership with RIIS, launched a call for proposals for an innovation showcase of Ed-Tech solutions that are changing the future of South Africa. We are looking for training innovations that will enable miners to operate more safely, healthily and productively, assisting in the journey towards zero harm production.
July 2021
Training and skills development in the mining industry have, in the past been driven by compliance with limited insight into effectiveness. Addressing this has been identified by industry leaders as a key priority toward its zero harm target.
Emanating from the CEO Heartfelt Conversations, and as part of its Khumbul’ekhaya initiative on health and safety, the CEO Zero Harm Forum mandated a focus on training and how it can embed safe and healthy practices to achieve zero harm production. In addition, a recent in-depth report on 4IR in the Mining Industry predicted that the adoption of digital technology is set to play a major role.
Training innovation submissions have now closed but see the presentation on the Technology scouting report and keep an eye on this website www.enablinginnovation.africa for updates.
