Thuthuzela Care Centres Partnership

On 2 December 2022, Minerals Council South Africa, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the GBVF Response Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch a tripartite partnership to strengthen the support for Thuthuzela Care Centres (TCCs). The aim of the partnership is to facilitate and streamline the provision and enhancement of GBV response and prevention services in mining host communities and beyond.

On 5 December 2023, the Minerals Council hosted the TCCs Day of Learning to provide a platform for Minerals Council member companies with experience in supporting TCCs to share insights and information with member companies that have pledged to support TCCs. The event was a great success, where Minerals Council member companies showcased the initiatives carried out in their respective mining operations, communities and beyond to tackle GBVFH.
